As a distant suburb of Detroit and the university town of Ann Arbor, the Village of Pinckney is known for its small-town charm and the quiet beauty of surrounding lakes, parks and forests. Located adjacent to the central business district and nestled among residential neighborhoods, this new 100-bed short-term rehabilitation facility was built to serve the local community and the surrounding region. With an expansive rehabilitation suite, a wellness spa and salon, and an integrated Starbucks, the amenities and planning reflect the owner’s progressive philosophy of care. Design ideals focused on guest comfort and pleasure as well as optimization for staffing needs and operational requirements. Design processes were strongly influenced by the analysis and implementation of trends in hotel, restaurant, and leisure environments.
